CS students must complete 21 months of practical training under ICSI-approved employers before applying for membership.
CS students must complete 21 months of practical training under ICSI-approved employers before applying for ACS membership. Training can be done alongside CS Executive or Professional exams. Approved employers include companies with a Company Secretary, practicing CS firms, and other ICSI-approved organisations.
↗ ICSIYou can start practical training after passing both modules of CS Executive (or after completing CSEET and registering for CS Executive). Register the training commencement on the ICSI SSP portal within 30 days of joining. Both you and your employer's principal CS must submit the required forms.
Yes. In addition to workplace training, CS students must complete: (1) Management Skills Orientation Programme (MSOP) — 15 days, after clearing all CS Professional modules, (2) Professional Development Programme (PDP), and (3) Other programmes as specified by ICSI. These are mandatory before ACS membership. Register on icsi.edu.in for each programme.
↗ ICSIApproved employers include: (1) Companies having a full-time practicing/whole-time Company Secretary, (2) Practising Company Secretaries (PCS) in practice, (3) Regulatory bodies — SEBI, RBI, IRDAI, etc., (4) Stock exchanges, (5) Law firms with Company Secretaryship practice. The employer must be registered with ICSI.
Yes. ICSI allows training transfers under specific conditions — employer closure, relocation, mutual consent, or other valid reasons. After completing a minimum period with the first employer, apply for transfer on the SSP portal with a transfer letter from both employers. ICSI approves/rejects the transfer request.
