Module I (3 papers):
Paper 1: Governance, Risk Management, Compliances and Ethics
Paper 2: Advanced Tax Laws
Paper 3: Drafting, Pleadings and Appearances
Module II (3 papers):
Paper 4: Secretarial Audit, Compliance Management and Due Diligence
Paper 5: Corporate Restructuring, Insolvency, Liquidation and Winding Up
Paper 6: Resolution of Corporate Disputes, Non-Compliances and Remedies
Module III (3 papers — Open Book):
Paper 7: Corporate Funding and Listings in Stock Exchanges
Paper 8: Multidisciplinary Case Studies
Paper 9: Elective Paper (choose 1 from a list)
All papers: 100 marks each. Sessions: June and December.
CS Professional Module III (Papers 7, 8, and 9) is an open-book exam. Candidates can bring printed study materials, bare acts, and notes into the exam hall. No electronic devices are permitted. The open-book format tests application and analysis rather than rote memorisation.
CS Professional Paper 9 (Elective) allows you to choose 1 from multiple specialisation options, including: Banking Law and Practice, Capital Markets and Securities Laws, Insurance Law and Practice, Intellectual Property Rights, International Business Laws and Practices, Forensic Audit, Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation, and others. Choose based on your career interest. The list is subject to ICSI revision.
Yes. CS Professional modules can be attempted separately. You can sit Module I, II, and III in different sessions. Once a module is cleared, it is permanently done. There is no mandatory order for attempting modules.
