Passing Criteria & Exemptions
To pass CS Executive, you need at least 40% in each paper and 45% aggregate in each module. Exemptions are granted subject-wise and are valid for 3 years.
To pass CS Executive, a student must: (1) score at least 40% marks in each individual paper, AND (2) secure at least 45% aggregate marks in the module (total of all 4 papers in that module). Both conditions must be satisfied simultaneously. Passing one module does not require passing the other in the same session.
CS Executive subject-specific exemptions (where you scored 60% or more in a paper but failed the module) are valid for 3 years from the date of the examination in which they were earned. You must clear the module within this 3-year period using those exemptions, or you will need to re-appear in those papers.
No. Once you pass a module of CS Executive, that module is permanently cleared. You only need to re-appear for the module(s) you have not yet passed. There is no requirement to re-take passed modules.
Yes. ICSI grants exemptions to CS Executive students who are also qualified Chartered Accountants (CA) or Cost and Management Accountants (CMA) in certain overlapping papers. The exact list of exempted papers and the applicable scheme is specified in ICSI notifications. Apply for exemption through the student portal before the exam enrolment deadline.
If you score 40% or more in all individual papers but the total aggregate falls below 45% for the module, you fail the module. You will need to re-appear for all 4 papers in that module in the next session (no subject-wise exemption in this case, since exemption requires 60%+ in a paper AND failure in the module due to aggregate shortfall). Always aim for 45%+ aggregate to pass the module.
