Exam Pattern, Subjects & Modules
CS Executive (New Syllabus 2022) has 8 papers split into Module 1 and Module 2. Exams are held in June and December each year.
CS Executive New Syllabus 2022 has 8 papers divided into two modules:
Module 1:
1. Jurisprudence, Interpretation & General Laws
2. Company Law
3. Setting up of Business Entities & Closure
4. Tax Laws
Module 2:
5. Corporate & Management Accounting
6. Securities Laws & Capital Markets
7. Economic, Business & Commercial Laws
8. Financial & Strategic Management
CS Executive Programme has 7 papers divided into two groups:
Group I (4 Papers):
1. Jurisprudence, Interpretation & General Laws
2. Company Law & Practice
3. Setting up of Business, Industrial & Labour Laws
4. Corporate Accounting & Financial Management
Group II (3 Papers):
5. Capital Market & Securities Laws
6. Economic, Commercial & Intellectual Property Laws
7. Tax Laws & Practice
Students can appear in one group or both groups at a time.
CS Executive exams under the New Syllabus 2022 are descriptive (written) examinations. There is no OMR (MCQ) component in CS Executive papers. Each paper is a 3-hour written exam. This is different from CSEET which uses OMR-based MCQs.
Each CS Executive paper carries 100 marks and is 3 hours in duration. All 8 papers (4 in Module 1 and 4 in Module 2) have the same marks and duration. The exam is conducted once in the morning or afternoon slot as per the timetable issued by ICSI.
Cut-off dates for CS Executive Programme examination:
For December examination (same year):
- 31st May: Enroll for both groups (Group I and Group II)
- 31st July: Enroll for one group only
For June examination (next year):
- 30th November: Enroll for both groups
- 31st January: Enroll for one group only
Students must complete registration at least 9 months before appearing in examination.
No. CS Executive exams are descriptive written papers — there is no negative marking. There are no MCQs in CS Executive under New Syllabus 2022. Attempt all questions to maximise your score.
Each module of CS Executive contains 4 papers — Module 1 has papers 1 to 4, and Module 2 has papers 5 to 8. You can appear for both modules together (all 8 papers) or one module at a time in each session.
Yes. CS Executive students can choose to appear for either Group I (4 papers) or Group II (3 papers) separately, or attempt both groups together. However, to qualify CS Executive Programme, a student must pass both Group I and Group II.
