Applied Knowledge Papers — BT, MA, FA
Applied Knowledge is the first level of ACCA with 3 papers: Business and Technology (BT/F1), Management Accounting (MA/F2), and Financial Accounting (FA/F3). All are on-demand CBEs.
ACCA Applied Knowledge level has 3 papers:
1. Business and Technology (BT/F1) — business structures, management, IT, professional ethics
2. Management Accounting (MA/F2) — costing, budgeting, performance measurement
3. Financial Accounting (FA/F3) — double-entry, financial statements, IAS/IFRS basics
All 3 are on-demand CBEs available year-round. 50% to pass each paper.
CBE stands for Computer-Based Examination. You sit the exam at a Pearson VUE test centre on a computer. Applied Knowledge CBEs are on-demand — you can book and sit them on almost any working day at available test centres. Results are available on-screen immediately after the exam.
Business and Technology (BT): 2 hours, 60 objective questions. Management Accounting (MA): 2 hours, 50 questions (OT and scenario-based). Financial Accounting (FA): 2 hours, 50 questions (OT and scenario-based). All have a mix of multiple-choice and other objective question types.
No. ACCA CBEs do not have negative marking. Wrong answers score zero — they are not penalised. Always attempt every question even if unsure, as an unanswered question also scores zero.
