Membership & ACA/FCA Application

After passing CA Final and completing articleship, you can apply for ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) membership with ICAI.

To apply for ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) membership:
1. Pass both groups of CA Final
2. Complete 2 years of articleship
3. Complete ICITSS and AICITSS
4. Submit membership application on ICAI SSP portal
5. Pay annual membership fee

All conditions must be met simultaneously at the time of application.

A Certificate of Practice (COP) is required to practice as a Chartered Accountant in India — i.e., to sign audit reports, accept tax audit engagements, and provide professional services. CAs employed in industry do not need a COP. Apply for COP through the ICAI SSP portal after becoming an ACA member.

An ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) can apply to become an FCA (Fellow Chartered Accountant) after completing 5 continuous years of ACA membership and meeting the experience criteria specified by ICAI. The upgrade application is submitted through the SSP portal.
