CSEET Business Laws & Management: 10 Chapters Simplified

By Admin · 07 May 2025 · 290 views

Business Laws & Management in CSEET

The fourth CSEET subject — Business Laws & Management — covers foundational business law concepts and management principles. With 10 chapters and 225 pages, it is the most diverse subject in CSEET, mixing legal provisions with management theory.

Business Laws Chapters (1–6)

  • Indian Contract Act 1872: Essentials of a valid contract, types of contracts, offer and acceptance, consideration, capacity, free consent (coercion, undue influence, fraud, misrepresentation, mistake)
  • Sale of Goods Act 1930: Contract of sale, conditions and warranties, unpaid seller's rights
  • Negotiable Instruments Act 1881: Promissory note, bill of exchange, cheque — characteristics, dishonour, notice
  • Partnership Act 1932: Nature of partnership, registration, rights and liabilities of partners
  • Companies Act basics: Types of companies, incorporation, Memorandum, Articles

Management Chapters (7–10)

  • Management Principles: Fayol's 14 principles, Taylor's scientific management, functions of management (PODC)
  • Organization Structure: Line, functional, matrix — advantages and disadvantages
  • Leadership and Motivation: Maslow's hierarchy, Herzberg's two-factor theory, McGregor's Theory X and Y, leadership styles
  • Communication: Types, barriers, formal and informal communication

High-Yield Topics

  • Essentials of valid contract — always tested in CSEET
  • Types of company (private, public, OPC, small company) — objective type questions
  • Fayol's principles — definitions and examples (memorize all 14)
  • Maslow's hierarchy — both the diagram and the management application

💡 E-mentor CSEET Planner schedules all 10 Business Laws & Management chapters alongside your other 3 CSEET subjects. Since CSEET is objective-type, you need breadth — covering all chapters is more important than depth. The planner ensures you reach all 10 chapters before exam day.

How to Study Management Theory

Management theory is best studied using "compare-and-contrast" notes. A table comparing Maslow vs Herzberg, or Fayol vs Taylor, is far more memorable than reading each separately. CSEET objective questions frequently test whether you can distinguish between similar theories.
